Both cats then move to bullying Peter for scritches instead, which frees
up Credence to go check on Rune. The phoenix croons at him and lightly
scratches at his head with his beak, which Credence has learned to accept
as affection.
He also gives him a small sample of his dinner, as tribute.
"We can go into the other room."
His cabin has other rooms, now. One of them has a table fit for eating
at.

Heading out into the hallway, now.
"If you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone too."

"Can you translate?"

Date: 2019-05-11 12:02 pm (UTC)"Yes," Credence says, because he's fairly sure that there's no point in prolonging the fact that he can't, in fact, talk to animals.
He uses a heavy, rather old-school key to open his cabin door, and smiles faintly at the two terrible creatures who come to meow at his ankles.

Date: 2019-05-11 01:50 pm (UTC)Says Peter, to both cats, quite seriously.
"Thank you for having me in your home. I'm making sure he eats enough- yes, I think so too."
Now it's possible he's transitioning into being playful.

Date: 2019-05-11 02:12 pm (UTC)"I check on Klaus a lot," he admits, as he sits down. "I read. I try to learn new spells. I see my friends."
This feels like it needs to be appended with an apology.
"I know I'm kind of boring."

Date: 2019-05-11 03:50 pm (UTC)He says, with a soft laugh;
"You're a wizard, and a hard worker, and a committed warden, and have interesting friends and powers and a history of travelling the universe."

Date: 2019-05-11 03:57 pm (UTC)"The Barge travels the universe," he argues weakly. "I'm just...here, that's all."
He makes a brief inroad into his dinner, and once he's swallowed he asks:
"What do you do?"

Date: 2019-05-11 04:32 pm (UTC)Agreeing, starting into his own food.
"I think I need a new hobby."

Date: 2019-05-11 04:37 pm (UTC)"What did you do at home? When you weren't...working."
That seems like the most polite way of putting it.

Date: 2019-05-12 09:43 am (UTC)Credence contemplates that.
"Well, you can still do...some of those things."
Technically all of them, but he feels that as a warden he can't endorse all of them.

Date: 2019-05-12 09:46 am (UTC)He keeps getting distracted.
"Maybe tonight."

Date: 2019-05-12 10:04 am (UTC)"That'd be nice," Credence murmurs. "You could teach me how to do it?"
It'd be a nice thing to be able to do for him.

Date: 2019-05-12 11:18 am (UTC)He agrees, reaching out with a bare foot under the table to stroke his legs.
"Polish for me, something more maintainable for you, what with all the cooking."

Date: 2019-05-12 11:52 am (UTC)"Thank you. Before now I only-"
His leg twitches briefly under Peter's touch.
"Shiro, the girl who I - she painted my nails for me once. But then not at all until I met you."

Date: 2019-05-12 01:20 pm (UTC)He agrees, and starts into the vegetables.
"Is your skin feeling a little better?"
Their last non-trashed date ended with a few care products being left at his place.

Date: 2019-05-12 01:49 pm (UTC)Credence nods, still almost surprised by the fact.
"My elbows don't feel as rough any more? And my feet are a lot better now."
He hadn't really appreciated that he had bad skin anywhere until it started getting better.

Date: 2019-05-13 08:26 am (UTC)Judging by the sliver of a smile Credence offers over the rim of his glass, he's very well aware of that. And quite pleased with it.
"That sounds really nice. You can use my bath too, if you want."
How's that for transparency.

Date: 2019-05-13 09:42 am (UTC)Says Peter, all approvingly, and lets that foot brush up over his knee, rest into his lap. Sounds good to him.
