Despite Alec's careful focus, his smile takes a slightly different turn then, something much more genuinely satisfied although he hadn't really been faking before.
"Nice," he says, honestly, moving a little closer to investigate. "How hard is it to keep up?"
Alec nods - that's how anything gets done so he accepts it - and doesn't second guess the necessity of it either. Not with how this room was a little while ago.
"Could you do this somewhere else? If the temperature drops or there aren't enough heaters?"
"I know." He drops his hand, turns back to face Credence. "Besides to check on you, that's why I was here earlier. I have to plan for crises. It's like a nervous tic."
"It is," Alec agrees. "I was making a joke. Kind of. You don't know me well enough to know that I never really stop, even if I don't always say anything, but that's what I was referring to."
"Which... is why I want to talk about earlier. Just a little." He doesn't want yo make a big thing of it but he's also realized the problem in just trusting himself not to be a dick.
"I know you know a thing or two about anger. And how that anger comes out sideways sometimes."
"No," he replies immediately, emphatically. "That's my point. I was already angry and then I found out you'd been stuck dealing with your room that way because the Admiral dropped the ball."
"I would like for you to feel comfortable telling me when things are wrong," Alec allows, because that's true, "But it doesn't make me angry with you."

He steps back, inviting Alec to join him inside.
"I haven't seen anything missing."

He won't say he spent hour upon hour, teaching himself for Shiro's sake.

It's been an hour so far, and it seems...fine.

Unlike making things float.
