It's a strangely exciting idea. He's never called anyone by a nickname before. Ma always said it was disrespectful.

He supposes this is obvious, or it should be, but he's grateful to have it spelled out.

"And we're friends," he says, reminding himself as much as anything else.
"Yes," he nods. "I'll see you then."
And insofar as he looks forward to anything, he's looking forward to that.
