Credence twitches a nervous laugh, then sobers.

"I remember, at Hogwarts - in the breach. The pictures, the paintings, they moved. I don't know if we could do that with a wall, maybe."

Slowly drifting clouds, or rolling waves, or swaying grass.

"We can try." He says, brow creasing. It's the kind of puzzle he needs exactly right now. Beautiful sorcery.

"I'll do the math tonight, see what I can figure out."

Credence smiles fleetingly.

"...we might need someone who's good at that kind of painting, if you're not? I know I can't do that sort of thing."

[magician_king]

"You know, I'm good- but let's involve people."

He says, perking up ever so slightly.

"We could do a few around, let people take different pieces."

Credence nods readily.

"I don't know if it needs the person painting to be magic, or if it's about the paints or the brushes or - but I guess even if they don't move, it'll still look nice, right...?"

Nothing wrong with stationary murals.

"Wait. I just thought of how this is going to go wrong as soon as we introduce people to it."

He says, because Jesus.

"....I didn't want to say that we might want to not let Bill paint," Credence admits. But Cipher isn't the only one who might cause trouble.

"Or a lot of people."

Frowning, thoughtfully.

"Who's one person we can ask to do one scene?"

[credere]

"...I'm sure Miss Wildthyme can paint."

True, it might involve....unicorns or nudity or something, but it won't be the (figurative or literal) car wreck that someone like Bill would come up with.

"That'd be nice. Let me do the underlying magic then let her paint it up somewhere, and we can surprise her by bringing it to life for her."

He thinks she'd like that.

"I don't tell her I appreciate her often enough."

"She doesn't talk to me often. I think she thinks she's...too much for me?"

Whereas he's out here getting his nails painted, and colonising public spaces for the arts, and trying to counsel Quentin through his failing homosexual menage a trois. He thinks nowadays he could just about handle her.

"If it helps, she's almost too much for me."

So yeah, good call Iris.

"But that doesn't mean she's not a nice lady. Let's do it."

"Okay. I'll contact her?"

Just to...prove that he can, if nothing else.

[magician_king]

"Good call. We should pick a spot."

He doesn't want Iris's art in his room, sorry.

"A stairwell?"

Credence nods. "Near the maintenance room? Then it'll be easier to get supplies back and forth."

Not that heavy lifting presents a problem for either of them - maybe not Iris either, for all he knows - but still.

"Supplies it is."

He says, with a nod.

"Tomorrow- I've really do gotta do that math."

It won't be a quick process.

"Alright. I'll - see if Iris is interested."

He's sure she will be. For now, he offers Quentin back his little hedgehog.

He takes Pope back, and smiles at him.

"Thanks. You're a good friend, hey?"

He probably doesn't say that enough either.

He could use it to top and tail every conversation and Credence would still struggle to take it on board.

"Thank you. You are, too. Um - I hope you can make up with Fives and Jedao."
