He's just finished his duties in the kitchen, eaten his own meal, and he's thinking about going to the library for a little while - but that's not 'busy' by any means.
He does. She's his...friend, probably? By his still-nascent understanding of the word. He falls into step alongside her, heading apparently along the hall towards nowhere in particular.
"It feels different. It feels...special." Not that Annie would ever say friendships are less special than romance, but that's 201 level curriculum. The first crush feels like it's earth shattering, and in many ways it is. It should be.
"Like...you enjoy hanging out with me, right? A little, when I'm clothed? But I bet you get all nervous and excited when you get to see her."
Credence looks - a little startled, like she's reached inside his head and
plucked out something he still isn't really sure should be there.
"Y-yes," he admits, like he's confessing to something bad. Because it
feels bad, in his head; like he's thinking and feeling things about her
that he has no right to.
"I think she feels that way with you, too." It's an educated guess more than anything, but she's never seen someone look like they want to turn themselves into the police over liking someone. "How'd you guys meet?"
"We've just been...around together, on the ship," he mumbles. "But we...we met up on an, um, a space station? A while ago. I guess that's when we started really...talking."
She has the classical wolf-stare, which is direct and almost unblinking, and can mean anything from 'I'm going to gut you' to 'I'm ecstatic'.
"I'm happy for you! And I really hope you are, too. The Barge lets you meet the best people. It lets you have things you wouldn't get to have at home." Her tone has sobered a little. "Don't let fear stop you from being happy. That's my advice. Go for it."
